Because if you only change tires and rims, the motorbike will be odd and lacking proportional. So that the motorbike is not only comfortable and comfortable to use, but also pleasing to the eye.
1. Rims and Tires
One of the most different from supermoto is the rim. Choosing a rim to change a trail bike into a supermoto should not be arbitrary. For daily use, it is recommended to use a 17th ring rim and for the rear rim a maximum width of 3.5 inches, because if the rear rim is more than 3.5 inches it must be there are several changes.
2. Gear Set
When changing a trail bike into a supermoto, the gear set must also be adjusted. Because supermoto is intended for asphalt roads, while trail bikes are made for off-roads. Usually the front and rear gear ratio is made larger, so if you change it to supermoto you have to adjust it again.
For example, the standard trail bike is 13 spike on the front gear and 44 spike on the rear gear. When converted into a supermotor, it is replaced with 14 spike in front gear and 42 spike in the back gear.
3. Fender
Most trail bikes have long fenders. Understandably, because it adapts to the front tire of a trail motorbike that uses 19 size wheels inches, some even 21 inches. In addition, large trail fenders have the function of holding the ground when passing off-road paths, not functioning on asphalt roads. Hence, when changing trail bike so supermoto fender did not escape to be replaced. So as not to harm, replaced a smaller fender.
There are several options for supermoto football on the market. Some of the favorites are KLX or KTM 85 supermoto fender. In essence, the fender was replaced with a smaller one apart from following the tires has shrunk, also because of aesthetic factors.
